SUNSHINE & SIRENS
This collection of works on paper was created while working through the energy and emotions of being a father for the first tie in the midst of a global pandemic. Quarantined in our apartment in Brooklyn, spring is outside, the sun is shining through the windows, and for a minute in the morning, it feels like the best of days. But, one after the other, day after day, the sound of sirens breaks those feelings of warmth and peace and reminds me that out there right now the world is going through it.
These pieces are a reflection of feelings, meditations of the moment, and working through this unprecedented time in our lives. Color has arrived in the work, and for the time, it just feels right. There is a little one in my life now, and I am inspired by his being, and with the world in such a dark place, I think we could all use some color. Now, more than ever, it feels like my job is to shine the good light and bring some good energy to the world. I hope these pieces give a little bit of that to you.
Thank you to everyone on the front line of this fight. We appreciate you and are grateful for you every day. Thanks to everyone checking out the works and giving these pieces a home, it means a lot in this time and space. Stay safe out there my friends, a better day is ahead!
